Only & SIBUR: expansion and support

We design and develop digital solutions for SIBUR's products and services, from demand analysis to scalability

SIBUR is Russia's largest petrochemical company and a leader in the production of polymers and rubbers

Since 2021, we have been developing digital solutions that support both external and internal services for the company. During this time, we have launched more than five projects of different scales.

Clear processes and regulated work are especially important for technical support of services such as SIBUR Career, where stability and efficiency are of key importance.

Projects are implemented according to Time & Material or FIX models, depending on the type of tasks, deadlines, and degree of certainty. During peak periods, the partnership utilises a dedicated team of over 50 Only specialists.

SIBUR corporate website, version 1 (2021)

In 2021, following Interbrand’s rebranding of SIBUR to reflect growth, partnership, efficiency and ESG, we adapted the digital identity. We designed the layout and UX scenarios, designed the website using 3D and motion elements, implemented a block-based website architecture for quick assembly, expansion, and updating. The project was launched in phases within tight deadlines, followed by support and development.

SIBUR's corporate website, version 2 (2024)

In 2024, SIBUR redefined the role of the website to reflect the new industry paradigm: it is now a navigator of solutions and services for end-product manufacturers.

The goal was to emphasise industry-specific products, scientific developments and innovative production with personalised communication. We benchmarked international petrochemical leaders and updated the website in stages, integrating new blocks and improving the customer path and navigation.

We developed a uniform design system, unified UI components, created guidelines and a flexible UI-Kit for interface scalability and consistency.

SIBUR Career

SIBUR is one of the largest employers in Russia: over 20,000 employees across the country work to develop sustainable solutions and innovations. The company recruits in various areas: production, construction, science, digital, management, marketing, and sales. Vacancies are offered at companies across Russia: from Tyumen to Tomsk and Tver, with the possibility of relocation.

To simplify the jobseeker’s journey, we have developed a career portal and a series of landing pages with information about companies, cities, and relocation options.

Analytics

Before launching the platform, we conducted a UX audit of the previous version of the website, analysing heat maps and user journey times, identifying key obstacles — overloaded forms and complex filters. We formed hypotheses in User Stories format based on HR platform benchmarking and user behaviour analysis and built a new website structure based on data and digital interface standards.

Design

We tailored SIBUR’s brandbook for digital formats and HR communication, developed three visual solutions, and took into account user behaviour and response scenarios. Interactive elements were integrated into the design, the search system was updated, and the employer’s value proposition was reflected in the new presentation and structure of the page.

Development

We integrated a recruiting system to display vacancies in real time, implemented the ability to respond without being tied to a specific position and a closed loop for internal vacancies. We developed separate landing pages for departments and special projects, simplified the user path, and added infinite job loading when scrolling. Also, a chatbot «Mendeleev» on WebSocket was implemented, delayed media upload was introduced, and TypeScript for scalability was used.

Testing and launch

After the launch, we updated filters, response forms and subscription system, conducted initial analysis of user behaviour, and recorded an increase in engagement: the number of responses increased by 50%, the number of unique users — by 33%, the average visit time tripled.

Technical support and development

The platform continues to evolve: we analyse user behaviour, test hypotheses, and support digital infrastructure for career paths: from analytics and UX to design and development.

Projects of various scales

We work with projects of different scales and directions: from corporate tools to public platforms. We implement most projects in stages: first we create promotional websites or MVPs, then expand them functionally in accordance with business objectives.

The SIBUR House of Polymers project started as a promotional website for an exhibition and later transformed into an educational platform for a regional tour. SIBUR Science developed a digital portal with 3D models, interactive maps and scientific sections. The SIBUR Photobank platform supports centralised storage and search of media content. SIBUR-Yug interfaces were created in parallel with the corporate website, maintaining visual identity and adaptability.

Marketplace and analytics

We create interfaces that simplify everyday tasks and support management decisions. The SIBUR E-com project rethinks the format of a B2B shop with marketplace principles: familiar B2C patterns are applied, the user journey is simplified, and a scalable design system is created. A BI interface with dashboards and visualisations combining data from internal and external systems has been developed in the Shareholder’s Personal Account. Interface supports light and dark themes, and prototypes with navigation and user scenarios.

Conclusion

Over 4 years of cooperation, we have built a large-scale ecosystem of digital solutions for SIBUR, from corporate portals to niche B2B services that grow and develop together with the business.

Each project solves a specific problem by combining industry expertise, well thought-out user experience and a flexible approach to development.

This partnership demonstrates how digital tools strengthen communications, even in complex industries such as petrochemicals. Its success is based on a deep understanding of the specifics, attention to detail and the ability to deliver projects of any complexity, from idea to long-term support.
