The concept of Baltika's internal portal

The concept of Baltika's internal portal

UX analytics, UX/UI design, design system

Baltika is Russia's leading brewery and one of the largest FMCG manufacturers.

Our task was to update the company’s internal portal while keeping the architecture and making sure it was easy to access key services, like requesting vacation and sick leave, submitting applications, and checking salaries and the organisational structure. We also needed to fix interface errors and adapt the portal for different user roles.

Solution: The project began with a navigation audit and analysis of the main scenario — requesting leave. We formalised the requirements and described all the steps based on the Labour Code of the Russian Federation and the company’s internal regulations.

Design and interface

Due to the technical limitations of the platform, the logic was changed as little as possible — the main focus was on UX/UI.

The prototype of the vacation page was implemented in a dashboard format with an interactive widget and updated tile navigation. It confirmed that we were on the right track and became the basis for a major update of the portal.

Result

The vacation request process is consolidated into a single dashboard: submitting requests, rescheduling dates, and other actions are available without switching between sections. Users can immediately see their remaining vacation days and the status of their requests.

The interface focuses on key functions, and visual cues simplify navigation. The diagram shows used, planned, and past leave.

Active work is currently underway: we are conducting interviews and designing the structure and interfaces. The new portal will be adaptive, user-friendly, and integrated with key HR services.

The launch of the updated platform with a personal account, a new design system and full functionality — from vacation and sick leave to document management — is scheduled for December 2025.
